Re-elect Pat Jursik: A Voice for the South Shore.

2012 Budget Hearing

County Supervisor is a non-partisan office.  The reality is that many supervisors are not only members of one of the major parties; they are actively supported for election by party members and PACs (public action committees).

When first elected in a special election in 2007, Pat Jursik became alarmed by the partisan politics that were taking over the representation of the 8thdistrict on the Milwaukee County Board.  Jursik was spurred to action vowing to represent only the interests of the south shore and battle the partisan attempt to “guarantee a veto”* for the county executive.

Here is the campaign promise of Jursik, not only in 2007 but also for every year she holds the office of County Supervisor for the south shore:

“I seek only one endorsement for office: YOU, the voter in District 8 of the south shore of Milwaukee County.”

As the Supervisor for the south shore, only the issues important to this district will be represented, not the interests of PACs, lobbyists or opportunists.

Vote for an Independent and Voice for the South Shore: re-elect Pat Jursik

*In 2007, a special election was required for County Supervisor after Ryan McCue was elected Mayor of Cudahy and resigned from his office.  The county executive set the first Tuesday after the 4th of July, 2007 for the primary with a final election in Aug. 2007.  Simultaneously, a hand-picked candidate posted his press release announcing that his election would guarantee the veto power of the county executive. (The county board requires 13 votes to over-ride vetoes of the executive).  It was obvious that the primary date was designed to catch voters off-guard and un-engaged in this election.  The voters agreed with Jursik and cancelled this ploy opting instead to pay attention and vote against such dirty-tricks.
